Glen Peterkin – President and Technical Services Manager
Glen Peterkin, President and founder of Sidewinders LLC, is an accomplished Motor/Generator Consultant, Winding Specialist and Field Engineer with more than 23 years of experience in the power generation and mining industries. Glen began his career in 1992 with a formal five-year apprenticeship in England, followed by extensive OEM experience with General Electric, Siemens, Brush Electrical Machines and Alstom. Over the years, Glen learned that exceptional value, service and performance are the key components of a company’s success.
Glen has worked on projects in over 20 countries on five of the world’s seven continents. He is not only diverse, but he can adjust to any work environment and cultural setting with ease. He is always mindful and respectful of his surrounds and clients’ needs.
Due to Glen’s vast experience and skill level, he is able to assess, evaluate and advise on the condition of any large motor or generator, no matter the original manufacturer, size or fuel type. His broad range of experience covers turbo-generators, hydro-generators, large synchronous motors and gearless mill drives. Glen’s experience and skills on all types of rotating machinery are not limited to one method or ideology, which enhances the leadership he offers to Sidewinders.
Glen brings years of experience to the aftermarket service sector to provide cost-effective maintenance and repair services, from testing and inspections to minor repairs and major refurbishments of generator stator and rotor components. Sidewinders has no affiliation with any large service shops or OEMs and can, therefore, provide its clients with independent, impartial advice and service. Sidewinder’s goal is to provide clients with the most effective and efficient team of people for a specific project scope.

JanEllen M. Peterkin, P.E. – CEO and Administrative Services Manager
Jan Peterkin serves as CEO and Administrative Services Manager. Jan attended the University of Utah and graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering. She is licensed as a Professional Engineer with the State of Utah.
Jan began her career working as a design engineer with URS Corporation located in Salt Lake City, Utah, doing design work for large government entities on transportation and projects. At the time she left URS, she had completed a state-wide bridge scour survey documenting and reporting on the condition of over 150 bridges in the State of Utah.
From URS, Jan worked in the government sector as a Project Manager for Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District (JVWCD), where she managed small to large-scale culinary water projects. One of her notable projects included the management of the engineering design and construction of a six-million gallon underground water storage reservoir in western Salt Lake County, Utah. From this experience, she was able to fine-tune her management skills with outside contractors and internal employees. She also acquired expertise in contract administration and negotiation.
Since 2013, Jan has worked full time for Sidewinders LLC with her husband, Glen. At Sidewinders, Jan is primarily responsible for the commercial side of the business. She is responsible for all the day-to-day running of the business, as well as commercial insurance, accounting, accounts payable and receivable. Working behind the scenes, Jan is committed to completing projects on time and on budget.
